I downloaded an SVG image for the App bundle icon of the big blue Arch "A".This is solved by having the Mac dd command create the empty Linux image. Seems the Mac is fond of saying the path name is too long. If you create an empty Linux image in the FAT filesystem using the Linux dd command, the Mac may or may not be able to copy the image out of the FAT filesystem.
